Spring Garden Inspiration

If you are looking for inspiration for your Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford garden this year why not turn to the Best British gardens for inspiration?  Whether you like sprawling rural locations or inner-city botanical paradises there are gardens out there to inspire. You could even book in a visit as part of a Spring break and then return refreshed to tackle or refresh your Woodford, Loughton or Chigwell landscape.

One amazing garden not too far away is Darwin’s Garden at Down House in Kent. There you will find lush gardens and intriguing greenhouses full of inspiration and history. It is where its owner, Charles Darwin, developed many of his ground-breaking ideas on natural selection in his ‘outdoor laboratory’. It’s a great place to take the kids as there is lots of scientific history to take in too.

If you fancy a trip further north and like a bit of order in your Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford garden The Topiary Gardens at Levens Hall House, Kendal, Cumbria, LA8 0PD is hailed as the ‘finest, oldest and most expensive topiary garden in the world’, the gardens of Levens Hall in Cumbria make for a surreal and awe-inspiring visit. This living sculpture gallery of trees and bushes in The Topiary Gardens can be traced back over 300 years to the late 1600s and are expertly crafted into a fantastic array of abstract and geometric shapes.

If you are planning an Easter break in the West country Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden, St Ives, Cornwall, TR26 1AD is another inspiration. As the former home and studio of one of Britain’s most important twentieth-century artists, the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden is not to be missed if you’re looking to introduce artistic flair into your outside space in Chigwell, Loughton or Woodford.
